The Medical Center Foundation of Hartford knows the importance of being there for your family and friends.  Falls, strokes, even traveling to doctor appointments can really make life hard.  How can you be in 2 places at once?  Where can you get help when things get complicated?  The resources may be out there but you don’t always know where to look. The Medical Center Foundation of Hartford is here to help.  You have the ability and the encouragement to call, stop by, or email Deb Holtan, executive director, for some assistance.  Holtan believes the Washington County community is the most blessed community in the entire state.  “The resources in the community are far better than any I know.”  Holtan understands that family members sometimes get ambushed with sudden life changing happenings, like mom had a fall or dad can’t drive anymore or mom’s Alzheimer’s disease has progressed and now we need more help and a break.  The answers are around.  The MCF of Hartford continues to be a resource that is here to serve.  “Understanding the resources around you is key in the survival as a caregiver.  A person can not do this on their own. There has to be assistance and help not only for the care of the loved one but for the care of the caregiver.” Holtan says,  “You are not along. That is exactly why the MCF of Hartford is having a celebration.  This celebration is to again mark the incredible commitment of this community and the work we do together. This year we invited Katrina Cravy to help us celebrate and to get people excited about the MCF of Hartford. She is thrilled to be a part of our work in serving the community,” Holtan said. Join the fun on Oct. 4th at the Mineshaft in Hartford at 5 pm.
