Adult Day Services

Caring for an elderly parent or spouse is a daunting responsibility. Physical limitations, sickness and the deterioration of mental faculties each present their own challenges. Combined, they become overwhelming.

How does this program work?
Our Adult Day Services program is designed to promote independence in the elderly and deter the need for nursing home placement. It is a community-based center that meets the health and social needs of older adults and their families.

How much does it cost?

As a program supported by Medical Center Foundation of Hartford, Adult Day Services participants are charged only a portion of the program’s cost. In 2013, the per-day rate of $53, $60 and $67 (based on level of care required) is far by the total $185 per-person daily rate a nursing home facility. Even so, the additional expense for older adults on a fixed income or adult children shouldering the cost for their parent’s care can limit the number of people able to participate. State funding and subsidizing programs available make this service more affordable; and, of course, your donation helps.
